Alhaji Fatai Oyedele, popularly known as Diekola, has been sentenced to prison by the Chief Magistrate court in Osogbo for his allege involvement in breach of public peace.
Mr. A. A. Ayeni , The Chief Magistrate, , also gave the order that six others be arraigned alongside with Diekola and be should also be remanded in the same prison. This development has stirred serious apprehension in the mind of APC members accumulating infamy following their loss to PDP in the just concluded Senatorial election.
Following further investigation by our news crew, it was found out that the names of the six other accused were Salawu Moshood, Oni Kola Adekunle, Oladosu Ako, Funso Babalola, Bayo Funso and Babalola Kayode.
Mr. Chris Okafor, who is the prosecutor, told news crew during his speech in the court that the accused persons committed the offences on July 10 within the Osogbo Magisterial District. He told he court that their offences contravened Sections 517, 349 and 69 and were punishable under Section 70 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. II Laws of Osun State 2002.
Though the accused individuals pleaded not guity to the charges against them, But the magistrate, in his ruling, ordered that all the accused persons should be remanded in the Ilesa Prison and adjourned the case to July 18 for mention.
