The media aide to the former president Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe has reacted to the speech made by the Acting president earlier this week.
The Acting president Yemi Osibanjo said that even fasting and prayer cannot bring Nigeria out of its present situation.
Reacting to this statement, Mr Okupe via his twitter handle @DoyinOkupe, referenced some portion of the bible to backup his claim that Fasting and prayer can help Nigeria out of its current economic situation.
He wrote, “I beg to disagree with VP, yes there is no substitute to hardwork but that alone can’t make a nation great but fasting and prayer certainly will.
“We can neither limit the extent of God’s power nor can we compartmentalize his area of influence. God is sovereign. He can do any and all things.
“Jehoshaphat army did not have to fight. They did not lift a finger. God fought their battles. They did not have to lift a finger but yet had victory.

In Another Department, The former Governor of Jigawa State Sule Lamido has openly announced that he is going to contest under the PDP for the forthcoming 2019 presidential elections.
Lamido said that all the coercion and intimidations of the present Government is not going to stop him from contesting in the forthcoming elections.
“All the coercion and intimidation were because of my aspiration, and I must tell them that no matter what, if Allah has destined that I will be president, they cannot stop me because that will amount to fighting the will of God.
“Leaders should beware of the consequences that follow tyranny, impunity and abuse of human dignity.”
Lamido was sentenced to prison on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, for alleged conducts capable of breaching peace. He was however granted bail on self-recognizance on Thursday may 4, 2017.
“Those in power today must know the same God that made Balewa, Ironsi, Gowon, Murtala, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida and Jonathan presidents can do the same for me if He so wishes.
“For now, what we are doing is internal; that is why I believe I have to start from home. I am aware a lot of people are likely to indicate interest in running on the platform of our great party. Please, we must make sure we go for the best.
“After series of consultations across the length and breadth of Nigeria, when the time comes, I will be offering myself for the presidency. I may not be the only aspirant, but please, when the time comes, only the best should be allowed to emerge on the platform of our great party, the PDP.”
Lamido had, in January this year, declared that no matter the level of oppression and intimidation, if God wishes for him to be president in 2019, nobody would stop him.”
