The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) earlier this week passed a message to the presidency saying that if anything should happen to Buhari, the Northerners will rule for another 8 years.
The NEF noted that allowing Osinbanjo to contest for the next election will make the northerners feel cheated. Recalling back, the NEF said they would not allow what happened after the late president Yar’adua to repeat itself.
The spokes man of the NEF Professor Ango Abdullahi NEF said the region must be allowed to field a presidential candidate through the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
Prof. Ango stipulated that according to the constitution, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo should be allowed to complete the term of office till 2019 as stipulated by the constitution. But will not be allowed to contest in the next election.
In response to this message, former special aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan Reno Omokri on the social media has lashed out the claim of the northern leaders saying that Ango Abdullahi has no basis for saying Osinbanjo should not be allowed to contest for the next election.
