Reports reaching us confirms that an APC Chieftain has just passed away — he was assassinated in on Thursday Monday, while moving along Benin-Auchi expressway.
Chief Suleman Afegbua, a former local government chairman of Estako in Edo state as been killed by some unknown gunmen suspected to be hired assassins.
According to dailypost it was gathered that he was murder on Thursday Monday, while moving along Benin-Auchi expressway.
News emanating claims that the diseased was on his way to Benin, before he was attacked along Ogbemudia farm in Uhumwonde Local Government Area of the state.
The diseased hailed from Okpella community, and was attacked along with two other companion in the convoy who were not killed but bady injured.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Edo state command, Moses Nkombe, confirmed the incident to the media, amd said that policemen have been deployed to the area to smoke out the perpetrators of this devilish act.
Nkombe said: “He was in a convoy going to Benin when he was attacked. He died on the spot while two others were rushed to a hospital and they are responding to treatment.
“Our men are out now for the hoodlums. As we speak, our patrol team, SARS, anti-cultism teams have been sent to the area to comb the bushes around.”
Meanwhile, a family source, who spoke under anonymity, said that the late Afegbua would be buried according to Muslim rites.
