It has been reported with great pain and sorrow that another great political icon of the country has been placed a cold hand by death.
Based on reports, Alhaji Abdulkadir Kure, a former governor of Niger state, is dead.
He was said to have given up to death in a German hospital at the age of 60, on Sunday, January 8, 2016.
This was confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday by Tanko Beji,the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in Niger State.
Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger described the death of Kure, as a great lost to the state and the country at large while reacting to the death of the Late. Ex-Governor.
He told NAN that: “I am very shocked but “from Allah we come to him we shall all return.“I was with him about two weeks ago in Abuja where we discussed on how to ensure good democratic governance in our state.”
Bello who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant Media, Jide Orintunsin, said he would continually be remembered in the State for his great developmental strides within he two terms of service to the state.
Kure according to reports came to power as governor of Niger under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, in May 29, 1999 and served till May 29, 2007.

He was also said to have introduced Sharia Legal System in the state in May 2000.
Meanwhile he was survived by a wife and six children.
