According to reports the Nigerian Army has revealed through one of its commanders that they do not have Abubakar Shekau, who is the leader of the Boko Haram.
According the commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Lucky Irabor, while speaking at a press conference in Maiduguri, Borno state on the matter, they don’t have him.
Moreover, this disclosure is coming ways after several claims by the Army that they had killed Shekau.
However, an unconfirmed reports has it that the local hunters of Borno had captured, Shekau.
In dismissal of the report, the army chief said: “The military does not have Shekau in its possession and only read about the supposed capture in some media reports.
“I also heard about it that some local hunters reportedly captured Shekau and I said, okay, when they bring him, we’ll see him,” he pointed out.
Notwithstanding, Shekau, weeks after the Nigerian Army said he is gravely wounded in a military air strikes, appeared in a video saying that he is in a very good health.
