It has been reported that another important personality of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), along with some others have taken a bold step of defecting to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Reports have it that Joshua Dariye, the Ex-Plateau State governor, and Long Jang, the ex-deputy governor, have quitted the opposition party, PDP to embrace the national ruling party APC.
Based on multiple reports, the Plateau politicians were received by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the APC national chairman, at the Jos township stadium.
Meanwhile, the politicians were joined by the incumbent deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Yusuf Gagdi, at the welcome ceremony on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.
However, Governor Simon Lalong, who was excited as he spoke at the occasion, reportedly said the event marked the return of Plateau bigwigs into the political circle.
Plateau State APC chairman, Lateb Dabang announced the names of 17 major political leaders from the three senatorial zones who joined the national ruling party.
“Things will be different by this time next year. Everyone will be smiling. We will not even be talking about importing rice into this country,” Oyegun said as he welcomed the new politicians.
However, a well known PDP chieftain in Plateau state has claimed that all the members of the PDP, who has defected to APC, will regret their actions sooner than they can imagine.
