Mr. Olakunle Owoeye, a 32 year old man, on Wednesday in a Magistrate court, in Ado-Ekiti, have been pronounced remanded for allegedly raping a 21 year old lady.
Mr. Modupe Afeniforo, the Magistrate, was said to have ordered the remand of the accused while waiting for advice from the office of Director of Pubic Prosecution (DPP), thereafter moved for adjournment till 23 January for Mention.
Meanwhile, according to the prosecutor, Insp. Bayo Ajiboye, the case file have been sent to the office of the DPP, for advice.
The accused has also been said by the prosecutor to have committed the crime on November 29.
Recalling allegedly that the accused had volunteered to accommodate the complainant who was stranded.
He said: “The accused at midnight threatened to kill the complainant if she denied him sex.
“He threatened to throw her body into the bush since nobody knew she was there.
“He forcefully had sex with the lady without her consent.’’
However, the crime contravenes Section 358 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2012.
The accused is yet to make his plea at the point where the case is at the moment.
