The national assembly have stated emphatically that the Senate President should allow for due process in the confirmation of the EFCC Boss Magu as the delayer is becoming suspicious since its been over a year he picked up authority.
The Nigerian senate has asked her president to release the status report of the the Department of State Service (DSS) oconcerning the EFCC boss Ibrahim Magu, to enable the house move further to the confirmation of Magu’s appointment.
Correspondents reported that the president of the senate’s refusal to release report for further progress is making the red chamber appearing as an obstacle to the Buhari’s administration anti-corruption efforts and this has caused some members of the senate to be unhappy.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the report from the DSS, has already been handed over to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, by the Director of the DSS, Lawal Daura.
Source said quoting some senators that the actions of the Senate president were becoming worrisome.
According to source, a senator said: “Why and what is he holding the report for?
“People are alleging that we are trying to frustrate the corruption fight of this administration but it is not so. Let him release it now.”
Another senator, a ranking lawmaker, added: “There is growing agitation among our colleagues and by this week if nothing happens, we will raise point of order on it.”
“The security report should be discussed in a closed session for us to know the next line of action. For unknown reason, the Senate President has been holding this, he should let it out.”
However, report also said that, Farida Waziri hasas well attacked Nuhu Ribadu, who was a former anti-corruption boss for dragging her name into challenges being faced by the agency.
